It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved company founder, Johnny Lile Clark, who left this earth on his 80th birthday on March 29, 2022. Johnny lived a full and inspiring life, one that we will try to emulate as we continue his legacy through our family-owned business.
Johnny was born to Alex and Bertha Anderson Clark in Prescott, Arkansas. He met the love of his life, Nancy A. Brantley, through mutual friends while she was in college. Johnny often reminisced of that moment as “love at first sight” when he met Nancy. They were married on October 19, 1963 at Magnolia Baptist Church. And from that moment, they built a life that they loved of children, business ownership, Christian fellowship, leadership, cars, fishing, and golf.
He and Nancy began Clark Exterminating in 1980, in hopes to build their American dream, when in fact it would become a 2nd generation-ran business when their children, John and Denise, joined the business. Johnny was a member of Camp Robinson Golf Course, a longtime member of Fellowship Bible North Church of over 30 years, the Corvette Club of Arkansas, and was especially passionate about supporting Castle Bluff Christian Youth Camp in Northwest Arkansas. He was known for introducing new electronics and gadgets to his family all throughout the years. Looking back, they now know that Johnny wanted everyone to be taken care of and be successful, and that started with offering his family and employees the best technology there was to offer.
Johnny came to accept the Lord into his life at a tent revival at the age of 16 years old. Ever since then, he has been excited to share the good news of the same God he has now embraced. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” -2 Timothy 4:7-8
Left to cherish all of the memories are his wife of 58 years, Nancy A. Brantley Clark; daughter, Denise Edwards (Jim); and son John R. Clark, all of North Little Rock; Grandchildren Whitney Patterson-Steel (John), Caleb Edwards (Courtney), Molly Kurtz (Gabriel), Brenna Clark, and Preston Lile Clark (Sandy); Great-grandchildren Gabriella Kurtz, Walter Lile Patterson-Steel, and a great-grandson on the way.
He is preceded by his parents, Alex and Bertha Clark, and sister Ruth Evelyn Ward.
